I too agree that there are undesirable side effects that these drugs induce. Hearing about this natural solution to depression is good news to me. Other alternatives I have found in my research for the topic included, let's say, 'new age' solutions like meditation, yoga or acupuncture, nothing scientific or tested in a supervised/controlled environment. This is truly good news!

This is a good introduction to the issue of antidepressants. They should never be taken for more than 2 weeks continuosly. Benzodiazepine withdrawal syndrome can last up to 18 months (or even years in some cases) and be severely debilitating. People have lost their jobs, spouses, and custody of their children trying to discontinue Benzodiazepines because the withdrawal is so prolonged and severe. Most doctors who prescribe Benzodiazepines are unaware of the dangers and high potential for prolonged withdrawal. Tolerance builds quickly and thus cause withdrawal symptoms while still taking the drug, which is often misdiagnosed for other disorders. Most people who become addiced iatrogenically due to doctor ingnorance. The withdrawal syndrome can cause a person to experience up to 30 mental and physical symptoms simultaneously for months on end. Common Benzodiazepines include: Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin, and Valium.

Benzodiazepines are highly addictive drugs, even at low doses.
